Folderly alternative

By Chris Aylott · Last verified: September 2026

Folderly has a 9.8 support score on G2 and is backed by Belkins, a serious deliverability agency. The support is not in question. What is worth examining carefully is the annual commitment, what happens when warm-up runs without a preview step, and what placement testing actually costs.

Where Folderly genuinely leads

Folderly’s support is consistently described as exceptional across G2 reviews — a 9.8/10 support score from 99 reviews is not a statistical accident. The Belkins backing means access to agency-level deliverability expertise, not just software. If you have complex deliverability problems and want a human expert on the other end, Folderly delivers that. No honest comparison should skip this.

Where the comparison gets harder to justify

Warm-up that runs without a preview step

Multiple G2 and Capterra reviewers describe thousands of warm-up emails sent overnight without warning. One verbatim G2 review:

“Over a weekend, due to a bug, Folderly sent 42,000 undelivered emails using our domain.”

A second reviewer describes their placement tanking over a weekend and not being caught until Monday. The common thread: warm-up executed at volume with no review step, no timing control, and weekend sending on by default.

This is not a support failure — Folderly’s support is well-regarded. It is a structural one: nothing runs through a preview and approval step before it executes on your domain.

Mandatory annual contract

Folderly requires a minimum one-year commitment at $96–120/mailbox/month. There is no monthly option. If the product does not work for your infrastructure in the first 30 days, you are committed to eleven more months of payments while you figure out what to do next.

For an established business with a known deliverability problem and the budget to solve it, this may be acceptable. For teams that want to validate the tool works before committing, there is no path to do that.

Placement testing is a separate $799/year add-on

Placement testing — verifying where your emails actually land across major providers — is not included in Folderly’s base subscription. It is a separate add-on at approximately $799/year, covering only four providers: Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook, and M365. Yahoo, Zoho, and other providers are not included.

This matters because placement testing is what you use to verify whether your warm-up is working. Running a warm-up tool without a placement test is operating without a feedback signal.

Audit process involves sharing inbox access

Multiple G2 reviewers describe discomfort with Folderly’s onboarding audit process, which requires sharing inbox access or sensitive account information. For businesses where inbox contents are confidential — customer data, legal correspondence, financial records — this creates a meaningful exposure question before the service has demonstrated value.

Why the preview step matters

The 42,000-email weekend incident is not primarily a story about a bug — bugs happen. It is a story about what happens when a warm-up tool has no step between “strategy built” and “strategy executing on your domain at volume.”

InboxPlease builds the warm-up strategy and shows it to you before anything runs. You can review the volume, the timing, the provider split, and the ramp curve. You can push back. The strategy adjusts. Then it executes. That review step is not a product feature buried in a settings panel — it is the default flow.

The practical difference: if a bug produces a bad strategy, you see it before your domain sends 42,000 emails. If it produces a good strategy, you understand what is running on your domain and why.
